Arggh, my iPod Screen Went White

I feel bad that this happened because I love Steve Jobs and he just passed away but I need some help.  I have an Apple iPad that I love and don’t know what I would do without and I also have an iPod.  I still use that for all of my music.

My iPod is literally my pet–I take it everywhere and it influences my mood every day.  And, today, my iPod screen just went blank, white in fact.  I am currently investigating solutions to this problem and blogging about it because it sucks and I want people to tell me there solutions if they have them.

It looks like it has happend to many others as I found many resources on this.  In an article called my ipod screen is white, I have found 7 step solution that I am using to try to solve this problem.

If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.  I am nothing without my music.

Getting a New LCD TV

Last Christmas, I remember checking out an article called LCD TV Deals for Christmas
as I was planning on getting a new LCD TV. At that time, the Holidays got in the way and I did not get my LCD TV. Fast forward to today. I am still researching the best LCD televisions that I can buy for a good price.

Right now, I see several that appeal to me.  The one that really catches my eye is the Panasonic VIERA TC-P50GT25 50-inch 1080p 3D Plasma HDTV but this lists itself as a plasma TV and I have read that Plasma TVs do not last as long as LCD TV. Here is a photoe of the Panasonic. Review: Panasonic VIERA TC-P50GT25 50-inch 1080p 3D Plasma HDTV, Black. Another TV that I am strong considering is the LG 42LD520 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV. It’s a 42 inch LCD with lots of benefits and it’s price is currently $578 which is downright amazing. For a 42 inch flat panel. Here is a photo of that one from Amazon: Review: LG 42LD520 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV It will be a battle now between Panasonic and LG…and I think that the LG might win!

Copy Shows From My DVR to my Computer

My goal over the weekend was to learn copy shows from my DVR to my computer.  I thought it would be easy, but it wasn’t.

Why do I want to do this?  Well, I have 2 seasons of Mad Men to catch up on and they are all on my DVR.  However, I will be traveling for work the next 2 weeks and want to watch these on my computer.  I thought it would be pretty simple.  It wasn’t.

You should be able to just plug the DVR into the computer via the USB port and copy shows like you would a picture with a camera.  Right?  Wrong.

After viewing how to record a show from dvr to a computer, I learned this was impossible.  Though my DVR has a USB port, it’s inactive and cannot be used for the copy.  I also came across the article HDMI and DVI and thought “ah-ah”, maybe I can connec tthem via HDMI because they both have a both an HDMI port.  Wrong again!

To transfer information from you DVR to your computer, you actually have to output the video to your computer and then capture it with a capture card.

So, I decided to do that.  I bought the capture card for my computer and transferred my shows from my DVR to computer, but it was much more work thatn I thought it would be!

Movies News: Sherlock #1

I just read an article that the Sherlock movie is topping the DVD charts.  I am huge fan of Robert Downey Jr. and don’t know how he keeps returning from the darkside even bigger and better than ever.

The report claims the following:

Sherlock Holmes” is No. 1 on the DVD sales and rental charts in the United States, Rentrak said Thursday.

I have not yet seen this movie and the reviews were not all that great.  But, the place where I get my Top Movie Rentals this week information indicates the same thing–that Sherlock is ruling the roost!

The latest reviewer claimed:

I’ve watched this version of Holmes a number of times now, and I must admit it surprises me in its subtlety and intelligence every time. As earlier reviews have noted, in the main this is actually a quite faithful representation of Holmes and Watson in light of the original stories (which I’ve read and, indeed, taught a number of times).

I might have to check this one out.  As I said, I am a huge RDJ fan.  Any visitors want to let me know the truth?

Unlisted Phone Numbers Don’t Work: Unfortunately

There is no doubt that the best free people finder is Zaba Search.  It has benefited me and caused me a good bit of undo grief.

You see, about 5 years ago, I got my phone number unlisted.  I did this because I inadvertently dated a crazy dude for several months who was impossible to break up with.  I started to realize that he has stalker qualities after…he started stalking me.  Thus, I got my phone number unlisted because I did not want him to find me.

Well, it is then that I realized that Finding Unlisted Phone Numbers Is Easy…very easy.  He found me in a matter of a month.

You see, if you do anything that requires a subscription–like a magazine–somehow your name gets in those databases.  It seems unfair to me but apparently that’s how it works.  AND, I love my magazines.  Thus, I appear in Zabasearch even when my phone number is unlisted.

To sum up the situation with the crazy x-boyfriend, I got a restraining order against him and have not heard from him since.  Apparently, when the police get involved, he goes away.

But for all of you out there who think that you are hidden because your phone # is unlisted, this is not the case.  Finding unlisted phone numbers is very easy so be careful!

Choosing the Proper Golf Grip

As I am going out to play golf this afternoon, I am thinking about the proper golf grip.  I know…I know…this is not something to think about before you play a round of golf.  The golf grip is something that you think about when practicing not trying to beat your friends on the golf course.

Whatever though…I assume the role of A Chick on the Golf Tee and everybody will forgive my poor play.  It is just that I need to get the right golf grip down as I think it is hindering my golf game.

There are basically three golf grip varieties and, of these, I choose to do an overlapping grip so that my hands work in conjunction with one another off the golf club.  However, I think my golf grip is tending toward the left and I need to change that.

Thus, this afternoon, I will make some changes to the golf grip and we’ll see how it goes.

And, as always with golf, a small change has a big impact.

Wish me luck bitches!!!

A Wii Integrated Life

There are some things money can buy and one of those is the Nintendo Wii Game Console  :)

I have just realized how integrated into my life the Wii has become.

There are three things that I do everyday with the Wii.  One, I play Tiger Woods golf because, as you no doubt have read, I am improving my golf game or at least trying to.  Tiger Woods golf is the closet thing that can use to get your mind ready for the golf course.  You can get your body ready too as you have to swing with the Wii but I like factoring in all the conditions such as wind and playing the smart shots so it carries over to the golf course.  There is no doubt that if you want to know how to play golf that Wii will help you in many facets of the game.

When I get home from work, I work out which helps me look great and stay in good golf shape.  I use Wii Fit to do this.  It allows me to have fun while I work out, saves me gym money, and saves me a lot of travel time when I work out.

Third, and finally, I play the new Super Mario Brothers which is currently #1 on the Wii Top Ten list.  I am normally not a big gamer but Super Mario is not really a traditional video game.  I think of people crouched in a dark room with space ships.  Super Mario is full of light and fun.

One writer called this Wii Tastic and I am inclined to agree.  I spend a good 2-3 hours each days with the Wii and it does make me feel fantastic.  Get one for yourself and help it improve your life!

Dolly Parton Back on Top of the Country Charts

Sadly, I am old enough to remember 9 to 5 the movie.  I was young when they filmed it but I remember Dolly Parton in that movie and simply love the music that it had to offer.

Now, she is back on the top country songs list with a tune I love called “Jolene”.  This song is from a live album performed in London of all places.  Do they even like country music in London?  Maybe they just like the big breasts  ;)

Dolly is not only an amazing country singer, she puts on performance and sings her heart out.  It’s really fantastic to hear her again on this album.

One reviewer exclaimed, “I don’t think any song she performs could be even slightly less than good.”  That’s high praise but I agree.

We are in a time when those who rule the country music charts are not even really country.

It’s so good to have a true country girl back in the limelight!

TeeD Off At the Market

I just checked my portfolio on CNN MOney and it’s not looking good.  My safe stocks tanked.  Conservative is out.  I want to finds ways to make money fast so I can get my money back.

Don’t worry — all that means is that you need to find a process that will pretty much guarantee your success as a blogger. Would you like to know how to make guaranteed money online?

Once you finish it you would need to set up a simple website using a free service like Weebly and then start generating traffic so you can make money. Just make sure it solves a problem. Would you rather go look for a second job or would your rather write a simple short report that can be making you money years from now? It’s because of the awful lists they give you. What you ought to do is be proactive and take this business seriously to earn excellent income by staying at home. Since 95% of us still use search engines to locate these websites, it’s no wonder why everybody is getting underpaid. It is always said that when people work together at achieving one goal, there is no stopping to their success. Spend 15-30 minutes a day thinking of an idea to follow through with. But you can do both and still keep hunting for something bigger and better. When it comes to providing solutions, the easiest way to deliver is via a short report. These are the people looking to purchase; you will need to find out what is needed and what they are will to pay. But, it is not practical to charge visitors to view a blog unless the blog is very famous and wanted on the internet. The search engines are filled with blogs and websites that can make it hard for you and your own blogs to rank. It’s important to keep a benefits oriented focus in your marketing efforts. Get excited and put some effort into it and soon you’ll find cash making it’s way to you. Anyone can accomplish great things online. There are free applications out there for Twitter as well but if you don’t know how to use it to make money in the first place then these are not going to help you. Create your own website or e-store where online users can check your product line and where they can place their orders.

So, I’m find out all about these online adventures and it’s kinda fun!!!
